Preparing for War: A mixed media installation including replicas of well-known oil paintings and sculpture by Duchamp and Brancusi, plus assorted army surplus from the World War One era all of which sought to reference the Armory Show of 1918. Preparing for War was created in 1983 just prior to the US invasion of Grenada for the “Terminal show” at the Brooklyn Naval Terminal, the largest supplier of military materials during both world wars. (Koenig & Sholette, 1983.)
